Glamorgan Cricket are urging fans planning to attend the decisive 5th and final NatWest Series Floodlit One-Day International, between England and India, at the SWALEC Stadium, on Friday 16th September, 2011 (2pm start), to buy their tickets now to avoid disappointment.
With over 14,500 tickets already snapped up, and just under 500 remaining for the match, Glamorgan Cricket are investigating the option of installing temporary seating behind the Riverside End of the stadium, in order to increase the stadium’s capacity to meet the exceptional demand from the Welsh public.
The final match of the summer could also be one of the most exciting, as Alastair Cook’s England team face the ICC World Champions and, for perhaps the last time, Sachin Tendulkar.
Glamorgan Cricket Chief Executive, Alan Hamer, said: “We are pleased with the high demand for tickets for the England v India NatWest Series One-Day International and it looks likely that the match will be sold-out within the next two weeks. The atmosphere within the stadium, for what we hope will be the deciding match in the series, will be electric. The match provides Welsh cricketing supporters with another opportunity to watch the World’s best cricketers in action.”
Starting at 2pm, this day-night encounter should be played in the great atmosphere for which the SWALEC Stadium is renowned, and continue the drama which has now been accustomed with England’s recent visits to Cardiff. Following a hard-fought draw in the 1st npower Ashes Test match in 2009, earlier this year England won this summer’s opening Test match against Sri Lanka with an amazing last-session victory.
The remaining tickets, priced £50 - £60, are available from www.glamorgancricket.co.uk or by calling 029 2041 9311.
