South Wales youngsters win at Mini Tennis finals

Young players from across South Wales were among the winners at the Winter County Tour Mini Tennis finals.

The Mini Tennis Orange finals, for players aged 8 and 9, were held at Virgin Active Cardiff, and the Mini Tennis Green finals, for players aged 9 and 10, at Swansea Tennis Centre.

Finalists came from clubs in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Neath-Port Talbot.

“This was an invitational event for the top six players on the Winter County Tour leaderboards,” explained event organiser Jenny Broughall of Tennis Wales. “Players have competed in events across South Wales from September to March in order to gain points towards their leaderboard place, so it’s a big occasion for these promising young players.”
