Last Chance for Olympic Games Tickets

Wales’ Olympic athletes Dai Greene and Jazz Carlin teamed up at the Millennium Stadium today to remind the nation that there’s only six days remaining to get tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games, which kicks-off at Cardiff’s iconic sporting venue on 25thJuly.
The talented Welsh duo took time out of their training schedules to urge sports fans to visit the London 2012 official website: www.tickets.london2012.com before the application process for tickets to the world’s greatest sporting occasion closes on 26thApril.
The eyes of the world will be on Wales when the Millennium Stadium hosts 11 games across the Women’s and Men’s football tournaments, starting with the very first Olympic event at 4pm on 25thJuly and ending with the prestigious Bronze Medal match on 10th August.
Fans can still apply for tickets to get behind the world-class athletes at the Millennium Stadium and all London 2012 venues and Wales’ biggest sporting stars want the people of Wales to show their support.
“It’s not every day that we get a home Olympics and the support from Wales is really important. I want the Welsh fans will come out and support us. It will make a real difference for all athletes to have that support,” said Wales swimming sensation Carlin.
Welsh track star Greene commented: “I feel very lucky that I will have an Olympic games in my home country. The season is going on but all everyone can think about is 2012. Nothing else really matters.
"You can’t let your mind wander too much but at the same time it’s hard not to think about what it will be like, the support and how amazing it’s going to be.”
With less than a week to go to apply for tickets, fans are urged to visit www.tickets.london2012.com, review the full schedule of events and start planning a fantastic day out for all the family.
Millennium Stadium General Manager Gerry Toms said: “Fans should act fast not to miss out on this unique opportunity to enjoy some of the greatest sporting events in the World on their own doorstep.
“The very best Olympic football action will take place here in Cardiff first, before any other Olympic event takes off in the UK, and there’s still chance to be part of it.
“The huge capacity for fans at the Millennium Stadium and the fact that it’s located right in the centre of Wales’ capital city makes this an excellent choice for sports fans.
“The venue is now attracting a global reputation as a first class multi-event venue and fans will enjoy a warm welcome in Cardiff.”
While the ticketing procedures launched last month, fans are reminded that it is not a first come, first served system and there is still time to apply for tickets starting at just £20 with special prices available for young people and seniors.
There are also many ways to make savings on tickets for families. The innovative ‘Pay Your Age’ initiative means that if children are under the ages of 16 on July 27th, 2012, they can literally ‘pay their age’ to attend.
These special prices are available at a third of all sessions and in every single sport. People over the age of 60 only pay £16 at the same events making London 2012 a great day out for the whole family.
