I am a writer based in Bury in the North West of England. I'm a fully paid-up member of the Association of Freelance Writers, and recently completed a 'Practical Freelance Journalism' course at the University of Manchester.

I work full-time in customer services for IBM but am looking to carve out a career in journalism. It is a major ambition of mine and I will be studying to gain qualifications and working hard to try and make it happen.

I'm a huge sports fan and the main subject for my writing is football. I'm a season ticket holder at Tranmere Rovers and attend the majority of England international games, home and away. But I also enjoy a lot of other sports such as tennis, athletics and cricket.
My passion for sport is only matched by my passion for writing, and combining the two is something that I enjoy a great deal. I have had an interest in writing about sport since I was very young, and at primary school I started writing match reports for the school team's fixtures for the school newsletter.

My first break into writing for a larger audience came when I was offered the opportunity to write regularly for a fan website for Tranmere. The site is called White Review and I've been doing this since 2000. I write match reports, news stories and am a forum moderator for the site (on the forums I am aka SCooperSomersaults).

In August 2009, I was selected to be the FanZone correspondent on Sky Sports for Tranmere Rovers. I am writing regular blogs for the site, and may be featured on Sky Sports News to respond on any big breaking news stories. It's an exciting project for me to be writing on such an established website and one I am immensely looking forward to. I also did some World Cup blogs for Sky while I was out in South Africa in the summer of 2010.

In July 2010, I was selected from a number of applicants to write about Tranmere Rovers for the Professional Footballer's Association's (PFA) official website, Give Me Football. This is another great opportunity for me and one I'm extremely priveleged and proud to be a a part of.

I was given an internship with a football website called Extra Footie and wrote numerous news stories, match previews & reports. However, after four months, the site's owners ceased the project.

For the 2010-11 football season, I have been asked to write a full-page football column for the Tranmere Rovers matchday programme, which is a great honour for me as I'm a huge fan of the club.

I am a contributor of news and comment articles for the following websites: About A Ball, Football Italiano,UK Football Blog, Selectabet and Foot Traffic Sports Blog. Links to all the sites can be found in the 'Links' page of this site. I continue to look to progress my portfolio whenever possible.

I have been a lifelong cricket fan of international cricket especially Pakistan and England. I have been very fortunate to meet my cricketing heroes the biggest being Imran Khan several times.

I am also a lifelong football fan of Liverpool Football Club and have met former players Mark Lawrenson and Luis Garcia.
Since childhood I have always taken a keen interest in Politics and studied at Degree Level. I appeared in the audience of Question Time in February 2011 and also took part in the mock Question Time Panel before that show which I won. I had the pleasure of meeting David Dimbleby after the show who was kind enough to allow me to have a picture with him.
I joined twitter in March 2010 and was discovered by Francis Taylor Great Host of Radio Cardiff Sport Show via the hashtag #ashes during England’s brilliant test series win down under in January 2011. I contributed to the live on air show via e-mail. I then began writing cricket blogs for the very first time and all of them have been posted on the Radio Cardiff Sport blog page at http://radiocardiffsport.blogspot.com
I have been working in Customer Service and Sales since 1997. I would like to move into social media in the near future but my ultimate ambition is to get into radio broadcasting.
