England v Sri Lanka Third Test Preview

By Zaheer Haque

The Third and Final Test of the Series takes place at The Rose Ball on Thursday 16th June.  This will be a historic Test as it is the first time it is being staged at this venue.

England will go into this Test Match leading 1-0 in the Series and will be aiming to wrap up this series 2-0. England will welcome back the fit again Anderson and Finn will be the one to make way. England will have to improve their bowling performance greatly compared to their performance at Lords.

Sri Lanka will be aiming for a win but will be difficult with Captain Dilshan ruled out of the Test Match due to injury. Also their bowling unit lacks wicket takers and bowlers of real firepower. The Rose Bowl will be the best bowling ground very much in contrast to Lords and also Cardiff.  The rain will play a big part to the outcome of this Match which I feel will end in a draw.
