South Wales Scorpions set to announce new coaching structure

South Wales Scorpions will be in a position to announce their new Head Coach and coaching team by the end of this month.

The Scorpions were unexpectedly left without a Head Coach at the start of 2011 and chose to go with the Director of Rugby option with Mark Rowley handling team affairs with a coaching team underneath.

But for 2012, they will go back to the traditional Head Coach led structure.

Scorpions chairman Phil Davies said: "We have been in discussion with a number of ideal candidates for the coaching position for some time, and if our number one choice comes off then it will be very exciting indeed for the club and Rugby League in South Wales."

The club also hopes to be in a position to release details about season tickets by the end of this month, once they know exactly how many games they will be playing in 2012. The make-up of the Championships for 2012 are still being decided by the Rugby Football League.

They have a limited stock of merchandise remaining for 2011. This will be available on the website later this week.

South Wales Scorpions hold their End of Season Presentation Night on Saturday 1st October at The Gnoll in Neath from 7.30pm. Tickets priced £10 which includes a meal and entertainment, are still available by going to www.scorpionsrl.com.
