Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday found both Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif guilty
in their Spot Fixing Trial.
This verdict is a devastating blow for Pakistan Cricket which has been marred
by various corruption cases in the past few years.
This verdict should serve as a wakeup call for the Pakistan Cricket Board.
They finally need to clean up their act and rid Pakistan Cricket of all forms of
corruption.
This will be difficult process for Pakistan Cricket Board
as their patron
is President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. The PCB is a Government appointed
body with no independence.
This guilty verdict shouldn't be seen as a Pakistan Cricket problem but a
problem that whole of Cricket needs to tackle and resolve fully.
